Divorced and unable to see children...

Someone I know has just gone though a bad divorce.. and looks like they will not be able to see their children  due to distance...He's very upset... depressed...and has said he wanted to die and has even said how he'd attempt to end his life.... I know of some of the drugs he has in his possession but amounts i'm not sure about.... He has Ambien, Xanax and Zanaflex for sure... he's said he would crush the pills, swallow them and drink alcohol... I cant monitor him all the time... so... my question is this... if he did this... could it possibly cause death?

Sorry about your friends situation, It must be tough on him and I don't really know what to tell you/him. But to answer your question, yes, if taken too much of them, it can cause death.

Try to get him to counseling or a doctor as this may help him cope with his problem....Good luck.

A divorce is very stressful & can bring out the worst in people.

ur right the chance of a overdose is extremly high. Save a friend he cannot save himself. This is addiction no matter what he is going thru. He will use his circumstances to continue and escalate. The behaviors are putting u & ur friend in serious jeopardy. Time for an INTERVENTION....ur friend is on a real bad track...get the drugs & meds out... Call all his family & friends a drug hot line will help direct u to a councelor u can come &'assist. Do not play the game well i' ll wait & see or i cant do this ... Ur concern for ur friends life needs immediate attention. Suicide is only next...

This has been a increasing addiction with ur friend for a long time. I suspect way before the divorce issue.....

dont wait a minute longer show ur strength and that u care! No matter what happens after u get help u will know u did ur best.

keep us posted.

Peace,Love, & laughter.....give a gift of life....help ur friend....thats what friends R for!

Although he wouldnt tell me exactly how many of each he had... he did say...30-40 of each med... so i am assuming that that would definately be enough to  to do the harm hes talking about?

I think my advice would be to let his GP know. If you read all these anti depressant it say is you or someone else notice something then to conatct the GP.

If he is having these thought a health crae professional needs to know
