Dizziness and anxiety?

I have heard of dizziness and anxiety but I need some re assurance as to this being real. I have struggled with health problems for 9+ Years (I’m 19) and anxiety for my whole life practically. Other than a slightly low iron which was corrected, I have absolutely no other reason to feel so dizzy OTHER than stress.  The last two weeks (back to school-stressful time) have been horrible I have felt like I had the flu for the last two weeks and I couldn’t walk on Monday. I have cried nearly every day because I am so sad-my job is not even possible anymore and school is so miserably hard when I can’t function let alone put effort into my studies. I feel lonely and sad and I don’t want to hang out with my friends or do anything normal 19 year olds do all I want to do is lay in my bed and cry. I am now starting to get depressed because I just feel so bad all the time. I have tried therapists but they just have not ever helped me I really think it’s time for medicine but i just hate to be dependent on drugs to function. Does anyone else feel hopeless like thistoo

First off I am so sorry your going through this anxiety is horrible. Yes to answer your question anxiety and stress can definitely cause dizziness. Have you had your ears checked recently? That sometimes attributes to dizziness as well. As far as meds go I really think it's a personal choice I no it's not for everyone I do not take meds for my anxiety however I know people who have and it helps them. I hope you feel better love just know your not alone in this battle

Literally me! (I’m also 19) I’ve gone through this for more than 5 years ... haven’t taken meds though but dizziness is definitely a big symptom with my anxiety and I am a hypochondriac so I always get symptoms... feel free to message me privately

It was so sad to read that but believe me your not alone. You just need a few things to go your way. I don’t think you need medication but I’m not a doctor I can’t judge.

Please try and focus on things that make you happy.

Also things that helped me when I was like this:

-A rainbow a day. So fruit and veggies that consist of colours of the rainbow every day.

-make sure your drinking good amounts of water and eating enough nutrition like meat, eggs, pasta and fish.

-try and build your immunity to fight off anything your body may be fighting. So this consist of Quinoa, spinach and brown rice. They will help build your immunity and also add some lemon into your bottles of water daily.

-also may be beneficial to go get a food allergy test. There may be something your consuming that’s causing the issues. Sometimes all it is, is something small

Good luck

I would also recommend not being dependent on medicines. Have you tried yoga and relaxation techniques? There are a lot of YouTube videos on hypnotic relaxation and I have heard people with anxiety being hugely benefitted by those.

Hi addie,

I am so sorry to hear about you, but you are very young for this, and you should deal with this situation. Well, First of all, eat healthy food and make yourself strong, so that you will feel normal and you can fight with this anxiety. I am also facing this situation, but I am recovering myself. So I would prefer you this advice or if you are suffering from severe anxiety then consult a doctor or get treatment from the best clinic.
