dizziness and frontal headache

I went to see my GP this week because over the last couple of weeks I was getting bouts of dizziness while resting (I can describe them as a swaying sensation) which comes and goes. I also have frontal headaches with this, the sort that you get when you are subject to bright light. I have been prescribed some tablets which I have to take 3 times a day so I hope that these tablets will clear the problem. I am also going to the opticians on thurs just to double check it's nothing to do with vision problems. I have scared myself today as I have googled frontal headaches and it comes up with brain tumour :-(

Hi, I have the same thing, did u ever figure out what it could be?

Hi raffaela80246 & marina38948,

I was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis (an infection of the inner ear/balance system) about 8-9 weeks ago. I've had ongoing dizziness for most of that time, namely the swaying sensation you referred to in your post. However, for the past 2 weeks or so, I've had the frontal headache with bouts of lightheadness and fatigue.

It was suspected that I had a sinus infection prior to the Labyrinthitis, but unless chronic, I am not sure I'd still be suffering 9 weeks on, especially as I am no longer congested (although still suffering with the post nasal drip).

From day 1, I've not taken any medication on the advice it would take longer for me to recover, instead I was informed I would get better in time. That said, just recently, an ENT gave me VRT exercises to do to retrain my brain and fix the mismatched signals it is receiving from my ear, which should eventually erase the dizziness.

Intrigued to hear of your symptoms and how they started and if either of you are feeling any better? Look forward to hearing from you.

hello all, just thought i would reply back to my post from over a year ago to keep you all informed how i got on with my problem.  I had an MRI scan which was OK and now am being referred to an ENT specialist.  Touch wood, i don't seem to get the dizziness and frontal headaches so much now (the Nuerologist put it down to migraineous headaches) so will see what the ENT specialist says as i wonder whether it could be an ear imbalance but i certainly feel better about them than i did before the scan.  The body is a funny thing and also anxiety is terrible as things seem to improve once you have tests and scans etc, it's sort of like putting your mind at rest that you don't have anything serious and sometimes symptoms seem to disappear on their own but i don't know why.  Hope all is well with everyone else.
