I have been experiencing this for the past 6 months and ENT or my GP have no idea about it. It all started with BPPV and there is hearing loss occuring since 3 years. BPPV got cured within a week without any treatment. It occured second time and symptoms stayed for a month. When it occured third time I was left with unsteadiness,Imbalance, anxiety all the time. If I talk for a long time i get dizzy. If i am tired i get dizzy. This gets worse especially in the evening and night.Brain is foggy all the time and my hearing loss gives me a lot of trouble. I noticed that it is dropping very badly in last couple of weeks.
Anybody in this situation?
I have had pretty much the same situation. I'm 63 years old and had vertigo about 4 yrs ago for 3 mos once a month for a few hrs. That stopped with thing going back to normal. This time I had an 8 hrs vertigo episode that left me with imbalance and lightheaded. I had to quit my job and try not to drive much. Been to ENT, vertigo specialist, hearing specialist, vestibular therapy and dizzy testing. They said the tests were normal. So then they sent me to neurologist who did nothing. Lots of money. No answers. I have good days and bad days. Thankful for that but I can't make many plans. I pray a lot.
I am loosing my hearing ability rapidly and always hearing crackling sounds in my ear. Did you feel that?
My ear has ringing and sometimes I hear cracking. Mostly its just clogged like in an airplane.
You are describing episodes of unsteadiness that appears to be associated at least for the most part with hearing loss.
Why was BPPV suspected? Where these episodes triggered by body and/or head position changes?

Hi Harsha - it could be vestibular migraine. GPs and ENTs dont know about this stuff. You need a referral to a neurologist. You do have classic symptoms.Check out vestibular migraine on facebook. Very good website and should answer a lot of your questions. You need medication to get rid of it.
