Around the end of September started feeling dizzy with pressure in my ears, a stiff neck and headaches.
Been to the GP several times, had the nose and ear sprays and anti biotics to no avail. awaiting an appointment with ENT now.
Symptoms seem worse in the morning and when moving about; resting in the evening are often less severe.
At the end of the dose of anti biotics started to get a slow trickle of mucus down the back of the throat wich has been there ever since. Can sometimes feel the stuff in my ears move and crackle but it never goes away.
Had an ear infection in July whilst on holiday, the nurse I saw then reconned there was evidence of previous severe congestion.
Like others say, it really gets you down and am reduced to tears on occasions- feel like you are going mad!
Just found this site; presumably these symptoms are typical of this condition. Might not be going bonkers afterall
Hi dont panic or feel sad I have similar symptoms aswell as tinnitus and like you say it is worst in the mornings. I get light headed and as the day progresses it gets better. What can er do here? No. Do not expect feeling good all day, accept that the morning are going to be a little rougher and get better later, so enjoy the better moments of your day. Plan for smiles with love ones and try to accept what you are feeling for now. Reassure yourself that this is temporary as it is. I have been to ENTs and some times they cant help. So figure out if this is one of those times in which Drs have run out of aswers and love and pamper yourself till it is over.
Also I have found out that if I hold an inverted position for a minute ir so, symptoms diminnish temporary. I lay on my bed face down very close to the edge up to my waist. Carefully bring my head down to the floor and allow the pressure of the weight to feel my ears. Hold the position for a moment relax there and carefully come up. And equalize. When I do this I feel better. Good health to you.
Hi...Google labyrinthitis and see if any of it makes sense to you.xx
Hello, did look at labarynthitis a while ago and discussed it with my gp. He acknowledged the possibility but said my dizziness was less than might be expected and my symptons were lasting longer than would normally be the case with labarynthitis. Seems that both are related, with some infection being involved. Guess I will learn more when get to ENT
Hi...labyrinthitis can be a longer term illness... I've had it almost a year. Although not totally dizzy anymore I still have a slight off balance feeling most of the time. If the inner ear has been damaged due to the illness in can take a long time to repair.
Hi...your comment has beem deleted..
Thanks clare. Strangely enough, since initially posting some of my dizziness has eased a little. Got my ent appointment through now, hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel!
