Hi,
This is my first posting, l am newly diagnosed with polymyalgia.
ls dizzyness a usual symptom of this disease? also is it usual for the symptoms to come and go? Some days are much worse than others and l was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what might cause some days to be unbearable.
l'm not on any medication for the PM yet, l can't take steroids because of a history of acute angle glaucoma and consequent cataract operation l had 10 months ago.
Take care, Lula.
Hi Lula
Welcome to the PMR Club. It has to be said that it is a very strange illness. Most of us find certain features of the illness to be more of a problem than others.
Most of us do seem to find some days a lot worse than others. One reason for this is that on a good day we think, great, and do a bit too much. The result is that you pay for it later. Some people also find that cold and/or wet days make things worse. Personally, I also find that the less I move, the more I ache and the less I can move. So the best answer seems to pace yourself, you gradually find a balance that sort of works for you.
I have experienced dizziness. However, this co-incided with trying to cut down on my food slightly while still on a reasonably high dose of steroids. I found that when I went back to a normal diet the dizziness went away.
I live in Somerset and run a small support group. If you would like to get in touch I can send you some information that you may find useful. I can be contacted by email at pmrfighters@yahoo.co.uk
Look forward to hearing from you and in the meantime hope you have many more good days than bad.

Your message addressed to Pam.
Contact can be made either via this site or by emailing pmrfighters@yahoo.co.uk and we will tell you how to go about it.
There is no charge but can we have your location and also whether you are on broadband, as PAYG can be costly and not as efficient for large documents.
