Hi, my friends DLA is stopping on the 22nd of this month as he received his letter last week saying that they can't award him personal independence payment. He's due a payment tomorrow (9th august) is he entitled to that payment??

Yes he'll get that payment, which will likely be his last one. If he car a car through mobility then they'll contact him about returning the car.
He can as for a Mandatory Reconsideration on the PIP decision, he has 1 month from the date of decision to do this.
Thank you denise. Also his carer is receiving carers allowance for him. That person received a letter also saying their allowance is stopping on the 22nd. I assume that she'll get that allowance up until it ends
Yes that's correct. Also if the person claiming Carers Allowance is claiming Income Support this will also stop.
Hi Fay, I'm sorry to hear that the DWP cant award your friend PIP. Did he not score any points at all then, was his carer with him at his face to face? As Denise said, he could go for a Mandatory Reconsideration.
Yes his carer went with him and I've told his carer about the mandatory reconsideration so I think they are sorting it out... Thankyou for helping. Much appreciated
If he didn't ask for a copy of the assessment report then i'd advice ring PIP and ask them to send him a copy. Don't wait to recieve this because time isn't on his side. Ring to start the MR request off then put it in writing pointing out where he thinks he should have scored those points. Most MR decisions remain the same so be prepared to take it to Tribunal. 80% of Mandatory Reconsiderations remain the same. 65% of those who appear in person at their Tribunal, have the decision go in their favour. It's a long process but don't give up!
