every day i suffer from nausea, sometimes i even have to throw up before college in the morning. even when im sat in lessons i can feel nausea coming on, i even have to hold myself back from being sick sometimes. when it gets really bad, my whole face starts to tingle, and my teeth go numb, also sometimes i go really light headed and nearly pass out. this happens at completely random times through out the day but a trigger seems to be going to and being at college. i also shake quite a lot during the day and my legs go weak. ive been to the doctors and all they did was send me for a blood test which showed nothing. this is effecting my life in a really negative way and i dont know what to do, ive had to miss out on so many things because i just cant do them all because of this nausea and throwing up. i dont know what to do can someone please help ![]()
Hi Rosie,
It sounds like your anxiety towards college could be the cause or contributing factor to your nausea. Any time we create a pattern (a location or situation + feeling nauseous), those same feelings return when we’re put in the same situation. So if you’re noticing a pattern with your nausea and being at class or on campus, I’d safely assume that college is the reason why. But it sounds like you might have a general anxiety issue – tingling, light-headedness, feeling shaky - these are all very common anxiety symptoms. Try calming down by taking deep breaths in and out (about 3-4 seconds in and out). This really helps your mind take a second to relax.
I hope you can start to change the way you think about college! I know this sounds really cheesy, but even saying simple things like, “this is going to be a good day”, “it’s only college, I do not need to feel nauseous about it,” and go about your day with a really thankful, joyful mind could curb your anxiety about being at school. The way we speak to ourselves and tell ourselves things is really important to how our bodies will respond to it. I truly wish you the best!
thank you so much!! i’ll try the breathing technique when i start feeling panicky and see how it goes ![]()
I hope it helps!
Also, another friendly tip: try to find reasons to enjoy college! Join a group or make new friends, or talk to new people! Making something more enjoyable could help fight off the anxieties of it. God bless!
