Hi,
About four months ago I had unprotected sex late Thursday night/early Friday morning. I spent the following two nights wearing the same underwear, while sweating and drinking a significant amount. However, I showered Friday and Saturday mornings. Sunday morning, so just over two days after intercourse, I noticed my penis head and foreskin were discolored and shiny, anywhere from deep pink to pale white. There was a small dark pink spot on my pale penis head as well- it was not raised, itchy, red, or open. When I pulled my foreskin back, I noticed that I was bleeding from four, tiny, distinct spots. Two were kind of close together, not overly though, and the other two points were on their own. These "points" did not resemble ulcerations, blisters, or paper cuts of typical herpes, and when I would wipe the blood off or pull my foreskin tight, no sore was discernible. Blood was just coming from these points at the rate of when you would knick yourself shaving. Also the crown of my penis head was dark, dark pink around the base. There was not itching or burning sensation at all, and I urinated and could masturbate without discomfort.
At the time, I attributed it to irritation from the sex combined with my tight underwear and/or poor hygiene throughout the weekend. I showered and put tea tree oil on my penis and foreskin in an effort to restore proper hygiene. The swelling and bleeding subsided within a day and the pink spot on my penis head went away 2 days after initially noticing it. However, I had no idea that tea tree oil is one of the most effective anti virals you can apply on the surface of a herpes infection. Upon learning this, I began to panic. Over the last four months, I have visited the sexual health clinic 3 times. They told me that my symptoms were not herpes because:
1. Open herpes sores do not appear as quick as 2 days after intercourse
2. If I was having a primary outbreak, it would have lasted longer, and the continual application of tea tree oil to sores would be painful
3. The bleeding I reported did not resemble herpes lesions and they would have lasted longer if I was having an outbreak even if tea tree oil was effective
Unfortunately, I live in Canada and no herpes blood testing is available so I do not have a definitive answer unless I ever have an ulcer to be swabbed. I have been extremely stressed out and paranoid during this time, and probably check my penis 30+ times a day now. I can't concentrate on work or school and it's really negatively effecting my life. I have no noticed no other lesions for this four months and any discolorations I notice disappear within 12 hours. Do you think I have anything to worry about?
