Hi ladies
Surgery planned for monday and ive just had a call from the hospital. They are not cancelling me however they are on black alert so: i have to go in at 7am as planned and there will be a bed meeting at 8am, they will let me know by 9am if im having my surgery or if i have to go home. It all depends on what hapens with emergency admissions over the weekend.
Not laughing or crying but, i am going to have a bottle of wine this evening!

Fingers crossed that you don't get sent home and surgery does go ahead.
This is the best time of year to go in for surgery, weather cold and damp so you won't be missing not getting out and about.
Stock up on your favourite books and movies, organise everything you need during the day into nearby downstairs drawer and have some comfy pillows and throws for cosy corner of the sofa.
Enjoy a good rest over the next few weeks relaxing with feet up and do all your Xmas shopping online. Stock up on wrapping paper, tape and cards over weekend as well as some candles to get you through the winter evenings.

Ah thank you for all your helpful advice phil! If everything goes to plan on monday i have done most of what you said and if not ill be back at work on tuesday!

Oh melons! I was cancelled 3 times before i got my hysterectomy but never as close as actually getting to theatre, how bloody frustrated must you have felt!?
Im am expecting the worse and hoping for the best and will keep you all posted.

Good philosophy to have Brie,at least that way you won't be quite as disappointed but really hoping for you that it doesn't come to being sent home. Love your name by the way,just eating your namesake cheese with homemade dough balls...yummy x

My real name is sabrina but being one of ten children all our names were shortened so i was always brie or brina. I tell people my name is brie like the cheese, im tasty but dont smell though!

I always pray for people.Was brought up Catholic and though I don't do church or anything like that anymore,think it always stays with you. So prayers and healing hugs too for you after your op xx

I was brought up by a very strict catholic family but found my own way in the end. I have my beliefs and have total respect for others and thier personal beliefs too.

Hi kitty,
I did put another post up yesterday but unfortunately i was cancelled.
I had my gown and socks on and group and save bloods also. I thought i was home and dry and then a woman in a suit approached and i knew it was over.
She said sorry etc but youve been cancelled.
I had a cry went home and phoned work and said ill be back today!
Anyway had a call at lunchtime yesterday and my new op date is next tuesday. I will of course put a post up as soon as i know if its going to happen or if i get cancelled again.
