HI not been feeling great for about 2 months ache legs very tierd and yesterday anxiety and could not go to work, this morning anxiety really bad been crying. I am on femseven conti paches for just over a year was on prempak c tablets for over 2 years and was fine but they where discontinued ,just wondering if I need to try a different HRT

Dear Paula hope you feel better, the anxiety is real b....but with calm and time.... maybe will get better.
I said maybe because we all are different and I don't want to give formula for something that I haven't been able to master myself.
I am 55 and feeling like 30 mostly of the time with some exceptions. I had a really horrible time couple months ago with the b... anxiety and with breathing,time, healthy eating and some help from Bach rescue natural stress pastilles, I can say now that the bad moments are less and less. I am not in any HRT.
I was prescribed antidepressants and HRT at the beginning but I decided not to used because after a week I felt worst to many drugs.

sorry to hear that you are going through such a bad time, I can completely sympathise. Some Progesterone's caused me to have bad anxiety. I have tried a few different types of HRT, but what works for me with minimal side effects is Estrodial Gel Oestrogen (I am on 4 pumps every day) and Utrogestan 200mg vaginal Progesterone pessaries (for 10 days a month)
Hi Marcia glad you are starting to feel better, I was fine on hrt until a few months ago and I just go worse, I do not want to go on antidepressants have been doing breathing ok for a bit then fell ill again.

Hi marinecarla , never thought I'd feel like this again just thought beacuse I was going to have a period which I did and then everything ok after that but I just started to feel like I did when I first started perimenopause. It is just so hard .

Hi Paula, I'm not on hrt but I did have severe anxiety with this peri, I'm now on antidepressant sertraline for 3 months now, and I feel 95 percent back to my old self on the anxiety aspect, but it took a while and I was advised to be patient by my doc and friends that had used them in the past, I'm glad I persevered, because the anxiety had taken over my life, hope you get sorted x
Hi Paula, interesting that while you were on tablet form of hrt, you were okay, but on the patches you have had all the symptoms returning. The same happened to me, but after only three months using the patches. I would say your hormones have taken a dive and the hrt in the patches is not giving your body a high enough dose to combat the symptoms. It can take time to get your levels back up and a bit of trial and error, but I would suggest you get back on to a higher dose ASAP! Some of us cannot function on low doses and that is why you read of women who are still on hrt in their sixties, seventies and even eighties.

Just to say that I used Evorel sequi patches for 6months and gradually at the end of each month I started to feel sooo down and my breasts started to hurt... it carried on each month until in the end I was crying a lot (and I don't do crying!) and I kind of had mastitis symptoms, I just felt horrid.
It seems it was the progesterone in the Evorel patches making me feel this way as it just didn't suit me... I've switched to Femseven and the symptoms subsided after a moth or so... now I'm fine on the Femseven type of progesterone but just can't get the patches to stick... but that's another story altogether so won't go on about that on this thread!! 😉
So, maybe you just need to change brand of patches and try Evorel or alternative HRT? It may suit you better... apparently it's usually the progesterone side of HRT that many women have probs with and can't tolerate (so my GP tells me?). I guess oestrogen can affect too but I defo noticed it in the last two weeks of the month when the progesterone was added in.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know that I felt so bad like you but now am ok with that side of things...
Hope you can sort an alternative that makes you feel great/human again but don't suffer too long, go chat with your healthcare professional and hopefully they'll help sort your issue. Good luck.

Thank you Aj , going to doctors tonight had bloods done on tuesday waiting for results just hope when I get to doctors they do some thing sometimes my doctors are not very helpful. I put my patches on my arm the doctor said you can, kept coming off my leg , don't have a shower just bath so put my arm across my chest keeps it dry a bit more

The Femseven Conti, is a combined Oestrogen and Progesterone patch, either one could be causing your anxiety. Why don't you go back to your gp and as them to try you onseparate hormones which I am on. If it is the Progesterone making you suffer with anxiety like it did me, it is better to take it vaginally, this way it bypasses the liver going straight to where it is needed cutting down on most side effects. The Oestrogen Estrdial you can use from 1 to up to 4 pumps per day, too little can cause horrible side effects as can too much. Have a read up on the research on Menopause done by Professor John Studd.

My doctor said there one at the hospital and there had to refer you but because I don't have high blood pressure things like that they couldn't refer me or is there another one?
