To havn't seen blood since I was put on steroids last week .do I still do enamas??

My doctor says give enama every night but I don't feel I need to .please help .

Hi babara80658, I think you should continue as your doctor says until such times that you can reduce or stop the enemas under instruction.

Hi Barbara,

The enema may not be doing the same thing as the steroids, if it's a Pentasa type enema then I believe it is anti inflamitory, the steroid is helping to speed up tissue growth, so you need both. I hated enemas, especially the liquid ones, I found them agonising to keep in when I was ill. I explained this to my Consultant as was put on oral tablet equivalents instead. Not so efficient though, as the meds then have to go through your whole digestive system before getting where they are needed.

Hi Chris . Thanks for replying. It IS SALOFALK ENAMA. MEZALINE. So I will take them both then. as I want to be well as soon as possible.
