Recently weened myself off sertraline after being on it for 6 months. It's two months since I last took a pill. I was on 50mg for panic attacks and depression. I'd been on Prozac years ago but for some reason it didn't work the last time.
what I'm asking is, I'm feeling a bit low and a little odd, kind of isolated and I'm so scared I'm going down hill. I don't want to have to take pills unnecessarily.
I've suffered like this on and off for years but I thought I'd cracked it this time and was determined I wouldn't go down that slippery slope again. Any advice would be good
I have never liked conventional medicine, I would not take sertraline or anything like that, you need something much more natural - your body is probably trying to rid itself of all the toxins. You could ask Holland and Barrett if you have one near you what they'd recommend which is natural, Valerian Root helps to calm and anxiety and stress for instance. Good luck you may need something but I'm no health expert!
That's just the sort of advice I need, yes I'll pop to the health store. I tend to be my own worst enemy, searching for any signs of 'insanity' when there's nothing there. Thanks Sam x
When you say you took sertraline, how did you do on it during those 6 months?
Were you feeling better on it?
Natural remedies can also be good, i think its a good idea that you consult with naturepath.
Some of us, do well with them (antidepressants), others dont, like myself also. Not all brain chemistry is made equal or the same.
Have yet to find one that does so im without it and just trying to figure it out as well.
Ive got hormones to largely blame as this came up on me this last year..so yes, its troubleshooting
I really dont like the stigma around menal health because we all have varying degrees of it, every last one of us and NO you are not going crazy, you are a normal, unique human being.
Depression and anxiety/panic is a horrible place to be though, and i totally undersand as most people here do . Keep checking back, dont give up.
