I am 50, not had period for 8 years, but went on Elleste Duet Conti 6 weeks ago for night flushes and severe skin itching. These have both stopped, BUT, I am suffering from bad bouts of anger, daily headaches, massive variance in energy levels, severe constipation and bloating and 10lb weight gain. My stomach is so tender! And to cap it all I have been bleeding for 4 weeks out of the six. Doctor says stick with it, things will settle, but I wonder what people think of possibly swapping brands, or I'm even tempted to give up and suffer the sweats and itching - unless anyone knows how to alleviate the itchy skin? I can't seem to find much info from people in a similar post menopausal situation.
Hello sarah. The dose could be too high. It happened to me at one point and as soon as the doseage was lowered it was fine.
im also near 50 in tenth year of menapause i recently binned my tabs after a year due to weight gain it was not till 2 weeks later i realised the effect they also had on my mind it feels like my light came back on i was so miserable still having night sweats but not as bad id love to know if this ever goes away tho or will i have problems sleeping for ever
The day after I wrote the comment I just thought "This is ridiculous", the benefits were so few and I felt so bad, so I just stopped taking them. I lost 4lb in a couple of days, the constipation is clearing, the headaches have stopped and I have more energy. And I am not angry at everything and everyone. I am sure the night sweats will return, but I will have to wait and see. Finally, I am looking into an overhaul of my diet to try and naturally boost a bit of oestrogen and collagen, as I don't want to take supplements, but the dregs of my vanity wants to fight the wrinkles and protect my bones (I'm small enough already). If it stops the aches in my joints from returning I will post what I find on here
