Hi. I have hyperthyroidism caused by an overactive nodule. I'm just deciding on treatment so I'm not on any meds (methamazole landed me in emergency which extreme body pain).
For the last week I wke up, get up then feel absolutely horrible for an hour on two. My body has some aches, I feel tingling sensations in my neck and arms and an overall cold yet wet feeling (hard do describe).
Has anyone else experienced this? What do you do, if so? I'm dreading mornings.
Sorry you're feeling so bad. Wanted to tell you that I went with my daughter to her appt. with new Endo yesterday (Endo 3 I've met since nodule/low TSH) We learned Biotin supplements can give you false immuno lab (thyroid tsh etc) readings depending upon how the lab processes. She may not have low TSH afterall and I may not need Methimazole, which also made me feel lethargic and eventually depressed. I'm thankful I didn't rush into RAI like ENDO #2 wanted. If you take Biotin, they say to not take it for at least 2 weeks before blood work.
As for feeling bad in the morning, I suffer allergies and sinus so mornings aren't my best. Do you think the drastic weather changes and allergies could be affecting you? Do you have a history of migraines?
I've had tingling skin off and on for years, most time in cheeks and jaw. I chalk it up to migraine and allergies. Are you sleeping at night? Are you exhausted? I know that cold wet feeling. I've had it. It's the way you feel on a cold damp day but in any weather, right? Do your cheeks ever get burning hot but body is cold? Sometimes I wish I had a hot tub I could jump into! I get chilled to the bone. That could be thyroid I think. This is so complicated
Hi. Wow&OMG!!!!! That is scary and exciting at the same time! I've read a few articles and it just boggles them mind. So are you and your daughter going off Biotin and testing again in 2 weeks?? I'm going to be sending positive thoughts to both of you. Can you imagine how many procedures may have happened that could've been avoided, Face it, is anything really safe?
I have a dust mite allergy but this is something totally different. I just feel awful for a few hours. It's just started in the last couple weeks, i'm sure it's hyper related. No migraines.
I sleep very little at night, maybe an hour or two and then wide awake. And no, not exhausted, I'm starting to feel like i'm a vampire, lol. I went icy cold when this strted in June, but no temp changes since. Just have to mke a decision and go for it. Meds are not an option. Keep me informed about your Biotin situation.
Yes, we'll wait about a month. My routine appt. is Oct 19th and I'll wait for that while being off almost everything including Biotin and Methimazole. My daughter just came down with a head cold so she'll wait a month.
I know! It's so scary to be so uncertain about making the right choice. I have mold allergies and dust and grass lol and my sinuses are always kicking up. Ever since I was a kid! I'll keep you posted. Hope you feel better and that is a passing thing. It's always something, isn't it? Keep us posted :-)
