hi all! ive been dealing with anxiety for a while (5years)and i was better with meds!last year i stop the meds &i was doing good for a while, but after i got a strep throat on christmas never felt ok again&my anxiety was worst! went back to the doctor and he put me on the same med (zoloft) ive been taking it for 3 months but still i have a lot of symptoms! a lot of ER trips past 3 months with chest/shoulder pain fast hr /GI problem, dizziness all blood work ekg ,head Ct scan, xray were ok! i also follow up with a cardiologist for 3 years, during this time he have ordered heart ultrasound, holter monitor event monitor heart ct scan with contrast all clear! now that im calling him back for the heart palpitations and chest pain, he is just like treat your anxiety dont need further tests! i feel like im going to have a heart attack in every moment! all day having all kinds of pains in chest shoulder arm/leg palpitations! sunday went back to ER with fast HR max 150 again blood work ekg normal! is anyone going thru the same? very worried! im 30 years old no other health issues
you went off zoloft for awhile then tried to go back on it and it didnt work? same thing happened to me when i was in Effexor. went off of it, two years later, tried to go back on it and it didnt work. doctor said my body built up some type of immunity to it. so now i am on Lexepro and Latuda and they work great. you may want to make a switch. i also use xanex for the panic attacks if needed. just wanted to share that with you
I’ve been up to 300 bpm. It’s all stress and anxiety. Was seen by the best at Mayo clinic, anxiety is a beast!!
ive been having similar symptoms for about two months now ive gotten all the tests done and they all came back normal. doctors told me it was anxiety. my chest hurting and the dizziness has been non stop too. its crazy what anxiety can cause
yes went off and now that i wanted to go back is not working! doctor said to increase the dosage but this is my dosage that i used to take before and is not doing anything! im taking xanan as nedded but im not using offten , i just want to be careful with meds especially xanan ! did you get all those symptoms as well? just so hard to
manage right now with the covid think around
omg im so scared now ,every time i walk or do normal day activites i need to check my heart rate to make sure its not going so fast! ive heard that Mayo clinic is on of the best, i wish i can schedule with them to! ive seen 5 cardiologist but they just put it on anxiety
ive been experiencing those symptoms before but every time are frightening and looks like new! how are you
managing ?
its been really difficult to deal with it for 2 months now its hard to think something serious isnt wrong when having these symptoms but we just have to trust our doctors and the tests results. i find that i dont feel them as much when im distracted doing something
This wont happen to you. I just had twins, 2 years prior, I was over exhausted and beginning to unravel. Keep it positive, if I was that sick and I was 100% ok, trust me you are fine too. I suggest you change diet, no sugar , no whites, no processed oils, no gluten, no milk, no processed food at all. Go organic…pasture raised eggs, grass fed meat , grass fed butter is okay, veggies. salads, low glycemic fruits and drink plenty of water. Too much sugar or anything that turns into sugar worsens anxiety.
And yes I did have massive chest pain, all anxiety.
thank you so much for all the positivity! im very careful with my diet too,but now that my anxiety is worst i have no appetite at all! ive lost 25 pound in two months, looks like every time i eat causes me palpitations and makes my anxiety worst! can i ask how you manage your anxiety now , what helps with the chest pain and all the feelings?!
my symptoms were pure panic when i was on effexor for the second time and it didnt work. symptoms included shakiness, faster heart racing, mind racing, sweating, throat closing up (kind of like something stuck in it), stomach problems, acid reflux, could not sleep, chest felt like 100 pound weight sitting on it, confusion, exhaustion, lack of motor control, sharp shooting pains in my upper arms, bubbling my words when speaking. just a pure panic. and i would have rather died than put up with another second of the panic. i wanted to crawl out of my own skin, because the effexor did not work the second time. so after a brief visit to the ER and sedation, my therapist put me in touch with a great psychiatrist who put me on Lexepro and konopin. my psychiatrist then retired about a year later, and my therapist introduced me/ referred me to another psychiatrist who was a friend of hers and he modified my meds to replace the kolonopin (because it made me groggy) with xanex and supplement my lexepro with latuda. and thats my story. 2 months ago i quit taking the latuda (only) because they wanted 1500$ for a 1 months supply of latuda and my insurance would not pick up anything on it because i hadnt met my deductible. now with the corona virus, 3 weeks ago i had heavy anxiety almost to a level 10, but thankfully my therapist was available by phone and talked me through most of it. i took a good week before my symptoms came back down to a level 5. i then did a phone conference with my psychiatrist and he put me back on latuda with sample packs he had in his office and we are now getting latuda from Canada because its only 99$ there. my anxiety is finally back at a level 2 now.
my new psychiatrist also tested me for ADHD which it turns out i have, and put me on Vyvanse as well.
its great that you have a wonderful team to help you go thru this ! i dont have insurance&i was trying to follow up with a psychiatrist and a counseler but not for long ,became to expensive ! now im just following up with my doctor ,but with all this coronavirus madness everyone is so focused on that
and is hard even to reach back to us! i wish you the best ,hopefully will get thru this !
is your doctor going to be able to make the changes you need? is he/she going to know the latest medications for anxiety out there ? i mean if your medication is not working like we already discussed, you are going to need some one who understands your mental health needs, we are not talking about a cold or an infection, this is your head and you need the right kind of relief. just worried he wont make the necessary adjustments to your meds.
listen the dictorcwas correct treat your anxiety and all this symptoms are signs of chest burn and heart attack but you might not have heart attack except pain .you need to remove your mind and leave free of thinking because it makes the blood pressure to go over normal as it can results in hyper reading .stop taking salt an alcohol but take potassium food then ensure you exercise regularly to keep the heart running welll. always check bpm ceryday or weekly to see the variance.
trust me you are not alone! I have had chest pains now for almost 10 weeks!! not as bad as they were at the start but some days it can be horrible again, I’ve had ecgs, chest xrays, bloods, head scan and ct scan on lungs. all clear, so again it’s all anxiety, you wouldn’t believe some of the symptoms I’ve had with it. its been the most horrendous time and I’m struggling, but I’ve 2 small children so I need to keep going, I’m starting meds this weekend and I’m petrified but its all I’ve got left to help calm me down. keep going, you’ll be ok! xx
I talk myself down, put cartoons on and I put an ice pack behind my neck, as this slows down messages sent from brain to the rest of the body. I also drink a little pedialyte as this has perfect ratio of sodium to potassium , which I’m sure you need. If you lost 25 lbs, as I did as well your body is starving for nutrients. You need a little extra salt in your water, preferably Redmon sea salt or Himalayan salt, this will help if you get dizzy a lot. Your creating an imbalance by not eating, which makes anxiety worse. I know it’s hard as my heart would beat fast too when I ate but start off with a low to no sugar electrolyte, then eat a low carb meal , start with almonds. then 3 eggs, no bread. Slowly increase and drink a lot of water this dilutes all that adrenalin in your blood that causes this. It’s a slow process but you will improve. I also take 5HTP, omega 3 high in DHA , B complex (in active form), inositol/choline, Miticore multivitamin , magnesium, and adrenal support. You can improve, try therapist too who specializes in anxiety. Hope this helps.
2 eggs
wow it sounds like we have been going through the same exact thing. im still finding it hard to accept that anxiety is whats causing all the symptoms that i have experienced. anxiety is tough!!
have you thought about sinus infection or allergies ? post nasal drip running down the back of your throat and into your lungs can and do cause chest pains. its pollen, mold, and dust season. just saying. sure anxiety plays a part here. you just have to figure out if its the cause or the effect.
I’m exactly the same! just under my name it says message.. send me a private message with all your symptoms and we probably match up, don’t be embarrassed and I’ll tell you what I’ve had.. I feel like I sound crazy when i write mine out.
