Do your symptoms swap over?

So Iv been dizzy and off balance for 9 months now non stop and for about a month now Iv had difficulty breathing and i know it's probably anxiety, but it really worries me because it feels like there's something wrong with my lungs or maybe even my heart.... And that could absolutely be linked to the dizziness. My dizziness was never diagnosed .. Maybe the lungs are the problem? Or maybe my symptoms have just swapped over? Because ever since the breathing difficulties started I haven't had the dizziness much at all

have you had your blood preasure taken recently that can make you dizzy if its high or low as for your breathing i am not a doctor but i get panick atacks and because i could not breath my heart raced drematicaly it would not hurt having your symptoms evaluated by your gp they can help with anxiety to good luck x

I have the same problem.I am not feeling dizzy but I have difficulty breathing and I am always thinking that I have sth with my heart or there is sth in my lungs.

Yes! I tend to focus on one symptom for months and when that stops scaring me something new pops up. I think it's quite common.

I get dizziness, and difficulty breathing. Usually when I'm out, which is pushing me to believe I've become a bit agoraphobic. It does come and go though. I've had my blood pressure done a fair few times over the past months and nothing has every shown a sign for concern. It can definitely be due to anxiety, it's the adrenalin pumping through your body.

Hi Jay,

I get dizzy moments and recently shortness of breath. When I had a really bad anxiety period a couple of years ago it affected my balance too. I felt the need to hold onto something in case I'd fall. In work aI would have to walk along the corridor brushing against the wall because I was afraid to walk in the centre. I also fell over a couple of times. It was very scary which made me think I had something horrid like ms. That has passed now but recently going through another anxiety period following a family bereavement. I increased my meds which I think has caused the shortness of breath. I was wondering that if you were on meds for anxiety whether they could be causing your shortness of breath. It is a common side effect for a lot of anxiety meds. Like you said, when one symptom disappears another appears. It's like that for me too. Now I've got shortness of breath I haven't noticed the dizziness. I don't know why this happens. I was off work for a few months a couple of years ago and it was very hard getting back. I struggled leaving the house. Sometimes it would take several attempts to open the front door even. I pushed myself really hard because I wanted to get back to normal. I hope you feel better really soon, I know how difficult it is. It's hard to believe that anxiety can make you feel this way. I always thought I was the least anxious person there was. Good luck to you. Gill
