Doctors refuse to help me..

The doctors are putting all my symptoms off on it being anxiety because they ran three D DIMER tests over the course of a week and a ultrasound of my leg and didnt find anything.. i am severely short of breath i have terrible sensations in my chest and feel like at any minute Ill collapse..they refuse to do a CT scan which will show for sure if i have a pulmonary embolism or not..

How old are you? If you are young a pulmonary embolism is extremely unlikely. Besides, the D-DIMER tests will have picked it up. If you are worried about DVT, and have been completely inactive in a seated position for many hours, such as on a long haul flight, check for ulceration of one calf, and measure both calves diameter. If one is grossly distended compared to the other, then go back to your GP. If you can feel a pulse in your big toe it means that the blood is reaching down there, so unlikely to be a blockage. If the symptoms don’t only come on under exercise and aren’t constant, it sounds like anxiety.

It is extremely unlikely that the doctors would not recognize an embolism especially if they have done the D Dimmer test. They wouldn’t refuse the CT scan if they thought there was any possibility of an embolism.
Feeling as though you can’t breath enough air is a very common symptom of anxiety.

The D dimer test are very accurate. they are not doing anymore because you don’t have a pulmonary embolism. Believe me, they know exactly what to look for.
why don’t you do a test on yourself. When you are feeling short of breath and have weird sensations, calm yourself way down and see if it eases up. Listen carefully to the short meditation that I gave you on breathing. or any meditation on anxiety. If you feel a little better after that then you know all this is from anxiety.
you are most likely making the symptoms worse with your increasing anxiety about this.

thanks jan, I am using the techniques you gave me and there helping. Its just angering that it isnt going away I have a family im trying to provide for and working full time its just rough.

I understand. it’s difficult to have anxiety and have to work full-time. And provide for a family. I got to the point where I just started taking one day at a time and didn’t get as upset about having anxiety. I know it’s so frustrating but when I release it, I feel a lot better. I feel more like my old self. I also find that when I get really anxious about it it gets worse.
I hope you feel better soonbut take care of yourself and try to do things that relax you.

Hi David
I completely know where you are coming from, I had a c section 3 years ago and when they did my spinal I had severe pain in my right leg after about 6 months I started having breathing problems severe chest pain and dizzyness I was in and out of a and e practically every other day, I’ve had 9 D dimer tests an ultrasound of my heart and a lung function test and soooo many blood test and they couldn’t find anything. I have also been told its anxiety and from that I now have health anxiety. I’m still having all these symptoms but I’m still alive so I’m just trying to live with it as I don’t know what other options I have. I’m sure it’s anxiety related but I hope you get some answers. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey sazzle i really appreciate this response and im glad someone actually experienced this as well , it truly does suck and I have sometimes where it goes away and then my brain just reminds me that im trying to forget and then i start worrying again its a vicious cycle im trying to break but thanks for the response again it means alot
