Went back to docs and she now thinks it could be trapped wind cos im not breathing right, but i am (i think). Im even breathless just sitting down
I hate this. Just so worried xx
Don't worry, all of us anxiety sufferers have gone through similar symptoms. It definitely sucks lol.
I get the shortness of breath and chest pains and such all the time when I'm anxious. I also have gotten hot flashes, one time I got so hot I could see the sweat droplets on my arms. Other times I get so cold that my finger nails turn blue. If you went to your Dr and had tests done and everything was normal, then it is just your anxiety.
Have you tried any deep breathing techniques? I use this one below a lot and if you really focus and do it properly it should help your chest tightness and calm you down at same time.
(It is best done sitting but can also be done standing or lying down)
1. Sit with your back straight and your hands in your lap or on your thighs. Close your eyes. While doing this keep the tip of your tongue touching the top of your mouth.
When you inhale – do it through your nose. Exhale through your mouth. Ready?
2. Start inhaling slowly for 4 seconds (count them in your head not out loud). Push out your stomach and fill your lower lungs first like that. Then the rest of the lungs are filled.
Hold your breath for until you count to 7.
Exhale comfortably for 8 seconds.
Try to imagine that all the anxiety is leaving your body while you are exhaling. You are letting it go.
Pause for 2 seconds without inhaling (very important) and do this one more time.
Repeat until you feel your chest pain gone. And it will be!
Well put Philly, Bev? Listen to what Philly says, it's called diagrammatic breathing, I imagine as I breath in slowly and very deeply expanding your diaphragm? A sack of white good energy fills my body, then when you pause, hold your breath? Imagine it the white energy collecting all your bad problems,! Then exhale blowing all your bad, negative thoughts and pain.
Yes i pic something similar! Lol I picture a balloon filling with air and then deflating haha
