Hi
So sorry you are suffering. In my early 20's and at certain periods through my life I suffered prolonged anxiety and panic attacks. I was given various psychiatric drugs, however later in my life I found I suffered from Hashomoto's disease and certain nutritional deficiencies.
Get them to check your thyroid function including the free t3 and free t4 not just the usual TSH. Also ask for an iron study as this shows iron status even if you are not yet anaemic but low iron can cause 'non aneamic iron deficiency' which you can look up on this site. Low iron interferes with metabolic funtion and your adrenal glands kick out adrnenalin and similar which give you the anxiety.
You don't say whether you suffer any ongoing medical conditions which may cause this.
Ordinary panic attacks are normally not prolonged and resolve in minutes.
Anxiety can also be caused by low blood sugar levels so you doctor could perhaps look into that.
The trouble is a lot of docs don't investigate they just prescribe antidepressants.
I am not a doctor I just speak from experience. Find yourself a good doc who will find your cause.
God bless x
Forgot to mention get your b12 / folate and b6 levels tested, but the first two are most important. Low B12 is growing more and more common.
Also I take a good quality vitamin b complex daily as deficiency in these can really mess with your head and they just wash away if you don't need them.
