Does Anyone Else Experience This?

Hey guys, I'm not sure how I am going to explain this, but I hope you guys can make out what I am trying to say and hopefully I can get some answers. So recently, I've started noticing that my heart rate jumps to about 90 - 96 bpm upon standing. Resting heart rate is around 55- 60. However, a day after the panic attack, I am left with chronic muscle tension, and my heart beats feel really hard and slower. Standing heart rate only jumps to about 70 - 75 bpm instead of the usual 90 - 96. It will beat fast for like 5-6 beats then immediately slow to about 70 - 75 bpm. I find this really weird and uncomfortable as when this happens, I also get really bad tension in my back, neck, shoulders and chest. This usually last as long as the tension last or until I take a xanax or anything that relaxes the muscles.

I can go days without panic attacks and feel normal but as soon as I have one, the days following my heart beats really hard and slower than what is normal for me or at least what I've noticed.

Does anyone else experience this? I find this extremely weird and uncomfortable.

What your heart is doing is very common with anxiety. I have experience that quite often. Anxiety can cause the heart rate to speed up from the adrenaline or even slow down, and you're heart may feel like it's beating stronger.

Any symptoms due to anxiety cannot hurt you. Even though they feel weird.  Tension is quite common in the back and neck,  shoulders and chest. Anxiety causes muscles to tighten up. I find that exercises help loosen them as well as some moist heat. I had such bad tension in my shoulders and neck that I  had to go to physical therapy  because it was very painful and I was getting knots

. Poor posture can also cause that. Shoulders should be down and back and the chin tucked in.

make sure you're getting some exercise because the worst thing for tight muscles is sitting too long in one spot.

Hi chronic muscle tension is so common with anxiety, my shoulders, neck , and jaw are always tight and uncomfortable. One of my worst symptoms, even watching t.v I catch myself feeling as though I am scrunching my shoulders up tight, I relax them and half an hour later notice I'm holding myself uptight again. It's something I just keep checking and try to relax, very uncomfortable, but my body is just so uptight even if I'm not feeling too anxious at the time. Lived with anxiety for so long I can put up with it but you can try relaxation or physio. Tension headaches come hand in hand with my muscle tension. My heart rate races at the slightest thing , even as soon as I wake. I don't constantly check , l know it's my anxiety and if I try to breath deeply and take a moment it will pass. My negative thoughts can get me so uptight also but this forum can give you some useful tips on managing anxiety better and reasurance that your symptoms are common and lots of us know how this feels. Hope posting here has helped put your mind at rest a little, can be scary if hearts racing and you feel panicky. Speak to gp though if you need medical reasurance also, it is frustrating, we tend to be anxious about being anxious.😊❤️
