Does anyone else have Labyrinthitis and Parkinson's?

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's 4 years ago. In October 2013 I was diagnosed with Lab.The retching and dizziness lasted nearly a year and I only got back to work by halving my hours. Meantime the Parkinsons also got worse and all the clinic suggests is up the meds. The Lab is always in the background and this monring I woke up with the worst dizziness since it stared.

P D restricts the drugs I can take and I find it very difficult to get a co-ordinated approach from different departments.

My main fear is falling because with the PD Ilack the muscle strength to get myself back up and I live alone.

Sorry to sound so down but I feel pretty hopeless today

Lindy

Lindy, sorry  you are having such a hard time and struggling with 2 conditions which make it really tough.  I can't offer you much comfort or answers but hopefully tomorrow you will find your strength again and not feel so hopeless.  Thinking of you, sending you a big hug

Hi Lindy-----I am sure there are people that have both of these nasty afflictions.  Gosh you really have alot to deal with and you manage to have a job.  I have the dizzys & I will admit I become a baby when it strikes.

Have you ever gone on the parkinson web site?  I wish you the best & people on this site are very supportive & informed.

Lindy, first and foremost how old are you. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 28, now I am 41. 5 years ago I was at terrible state, taking 17 pills per day. Then I took a gamble and had DBS operation and never looked back. I take now one 8 mg Requip modutab tablet, 1 madopar and 2 PK Mertz. Sometimes i do have dyskinesia. For muscles I take a tablet of 375 magnesium with D vitamins. I work normally, sometimes 10 hours per day, ok behind the comp. If I can help in any way please let me know.

Anyone would feel down to have this much to deal with. The fact that you work at all is admirable..Is it possible to seek help from a holistic source? Thinking that might be the way to address both problems without short changing treatment of one over the other. Prayers for your improvement!

Hello Anne - Thank you so much for your kind message. It really made

my morning brighter.

Hope you are well and having a good day.

Lindy

Hi Marie - Thank you very much for your reply.

I have posted on the Parkinson;s web site but with little success.

I find it quite awkward to use but that says more about my lack of computer skills.

I'm sure others will find the info a help.

Thanks again

Lindy

Hello - thank you very much for your reply I am 63.

My plan was to work till 65 but that feels unrealistic now.

I am very interested in your DBS op. It is on my list of questions for my consultant chat net month. Glad to hear that it is working so well for you

Lindy

Most welcome Lindy, you're not alone

Good luck with it and it worked really well, I had my first battery change this March and it took me just one month to recuperate.

Hello -  Thank you so much for your good wishes It helps me a lot to see that people are taking the time to contact me..

The closest I get to a holistic apptoach is my weekly visit to a Bowen therapist. She loosens up my muscles by massage. This is great help as both lab and PD tend to make you painffully stiff and rigid.

I certainly feel that a holistic overview could be vey helpful.

Thank you again

Lindy
