I just woke up to my throat feeling very scratchy as it’s making me cough like crazy and I’m also feeling like my throat is closing up and that I can’t swallow normally. Is this anxiety? This is something that never really happened to me until now and I don’t get what could be causing it. I have no idea if it could be post nasal drip as my doctor has told me before that I have one but didn’t find anything that’s causing it, except for the change of weather. There was no viral infection I had allergies or anything serious. But it has been three months now, since I had blood test done. How can I go back to sleep through this?
hi

ive had the same for months x x try not to worry.
This is very common symptom with anxiety. Any possibility you have an allergy to pollen or mold spores or dust which is everywhere ?
Are you medicated or do you have medication for anxiety? If not, you should call your doctor and talk to him/her and tell them whats going on. They should be understanding and ask you to come in for an exam. If the exam reveals nothing wrong with your throat, tell them you suspect anxiety and ask for a benzo (xanex, Adivan, kolonopin, Valium, etc) until you can see a psychiatrist. If you dont know a psychiatrist i am sure the doctor can recommend one. This is the only way i know of to take care of the problem with the throat. If it gets too bad, you can go to the ER and they will give you something to calm you down as well.
