Hi ladies so grateful to be here . I feel scared all the time I cant leave the house. I am scared of falling over with the dizziness. I just want to stay in a safe place. I am terrified to do anything.
Hello fiona i feel for you i really do cos i was the same but now push myself to go to work and do small walks round the village but its horrid when i feel i will fall cos im dizzy i feel im walking on marshmallows and cant stand for long at work cos i feel ill faint. I have put it down to anxiety that appears to be one of the many of the horrid symptoms of perimenopause. I hope you start to set youself some tasks like walk to the bottom of your road like i did. Take each day as it comes and if you cant do it try talking to your gp and tell them what youv told us. Sending you a comforting hug x
aww fiona, i too understand a little how you feel , i get times when i dont want to go out anywhere, safer at home and easier, i get feelings of dread and panic when i go out in case "something happens" though i dont know what, and just want to be safe indoors. but for me, this site has helped me so much !! reading what appears to be "normal" signs and sypmtoms of perimenopause and menopause is SUCH massive relief . i for me, and try it yourself, just knowing what your feeling is normal helps to relieve it, its ok to feel like it, though not nice ,but you know your not the only one like it, as anxious says, try small tasks each day if that helps, and i find when im home and braved whatever was making me scared, im so proud of myself for it . best wishes to you, will be thinking of you xx
Hi Fiona. Sorry to hear you are feeling so awful. If it helps I have also felt like this and agree entirely with the others. I have had anxiety, feelings of something awful happening although I don't know what it is. I completely understand the dizziness and how it makes you want to stay at home. It's safe at home and it's your comfort zone. I have made myself go out, to start just in the garden and then to end of road and back. Once you have done that you can tell yourself that you did it and nothing awful happened to you. That makes you feel confident to do it again and gradually increase how far you go and the situations you put yourself in. I also find that I feel better outside in the fresh air so that helps too. Just take it slowly 😊 . Also, it might be worth checking with you Dr in case it is an inner ear problem. I have recently discovered that I have a type of positional vertigo too following an inner ear infection, and this combined with the meno stuff makes things so much worse. Might be worth checking. It's less scary when you know what you are dealing with. Take care. Xx

Hi Mooma I take oestrocalm .
Hello Fiona, yes like you I spend a lot of time indoors due to menopause IBS ,tinnitus and balance problem ,I suffer from daily anxiety It's been 8very long years of seeing doctors for answers I know how easy you can stop going out ,just sitting in a car with IBS is uncomfortable to wait in traffic , the vaginal bit comes into play to so uncomfortable .I do have a lovely lady doctor, most male doctors don't have a clue to the female problems I tell my daughter always to see a female doctor for female problems as she has the same parts so she will know what your describing and where my advice is to get good female doctor and stick to just her,and keep at it anxiety and menopause go hand in hand for most of us best wishes x
