Does anyone know anything about small intestine wall thickening or kidney stones?

I recently woke up last night in so much pain I could barely stand it and I went to the emergency room. They did a urine sample and blood work and that came out ok and at this point they have given me random and I felt no different so they ran a CT scan and he doctor said he found that my small intestine was "thickened" quite a lot and told me it's probably a viral infection. He also told me I have a kidney stone in my right kidney as well (but that side wasn't hurting me) . They ended up giving me morphine and after I felt better they sent me home with anibodics and pain medicine. Do you think that could cause that much pain or do you think I have like a kidney stone they couldn't see? Is that even possible? Does anyone have experience with "thickening" of the small intestine?

Thank you for reading this and taking the time to help me! <3 (-:

As the doctor told you, thickening of the small intestine is usually caused by a benign condition--like a viral infection.  However, any intestinal problem where there is inflammation present can cause quite a lot of pain.  The stones, while they remain in the kidney, tend not to cause pain.  It's when they work their way toward the bladder for evacuation is when they can cause tremendous pain.  One can still see them on a CT scan in that process. [In my own experience]  I'm sure you were told to follow through with tour own physician if you still experience pain.  I hope it won't be necessary, but please do so if the pain persists.

I know I'm a little late but I'm on the same page and I'm only 14 just diagnosed with a thickening and habe had multiple tests but I would recommend getting an endoscopy and possibly a colonoscopy as well
