im just wondering if an optometrist can detect optic neuritis
Yes they can, straight away. They can see the optic nerve and disc and whether or not the nerve is inflamed. You’ll know if you have optic neuritis, as your vision will become blurry and your vision will decrease.
Not always, it depends how good they are. My father was misdiagnosed with an eye problem from an optometrist and when he went to an opthalmologist they said he didn’t have that problem at all. If you are in any doubt with your symptoms go to an opthalmologist.
agree. i was misdiagnosed by an optho too. when in doubt seek several opinions but an optomotrist would not be who I
would see for this issue
ive been to 3 optometrists and had 2 CT scans.. i have a phobia so im sure im just over reacting but now my phobia is of MS ![]()
