Does anyone know is it Ok to take Tramadol and Ibrufion

I would like to try 2 Tramadol 50 mg with 1 Ibrufion 400mg to ease my pain.

Does any one else do this.

Also has anyone moved on from Tramadol to another pain killer and found a improvement .

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew,  what you propose is safe to do as I do know of patients who already take these tablets. It will relieve your pain somewhat as the additional painkiller will add to the Tramadol. But after saying that if you are in doubt consult your doctor.

All the best...............Ron.

Thank you Ron

I will consult my doctor, but 2 weeks wait.

Hi

yes I do take Tramadol and have been told by my doc that taking ibuprofen is fine to take with it.

Also the ibuprofen includes an anti inflammatory.

Hope this combination has been working for you.

hi andrew it ok to do what you want but for a short period because if you take ibrufion for long periods you will end up with stomach problems as for moving on from tramadol have you tryed gabapeptine or mst;s as they are a bit stronger can i ask what is the problem as this would make a differance to what you should take hope this helps all the best graham

Hi andrew65556,

Tamadol with Ibuprofen is fine as one is for pain and the other for inflammation. The trouble with Ibuprofen is that it is not good for your stomach with prolonged use. Would suggest that you ask for Modified Release Tramadol which is available in various doses and some Omeprazole for your stomach. Diclofenac or Naproxen are stronger anti-inflammatories and you also have things like Gabapentin which is an anti-spasmodic. Regular Paracetamol is also very good for pain relief, but you have to take it at the same time every day to get the real benefit of it. Hope this is of help.

Best wishes,
