Im wondering if these are possible symptoms..
Red blood mixed in to clear mucus attached to stool ? So it doesn't mix in with with water. No pain.
Once i had fresh blood when i wiped, but other than that normally in a mucus on outside of the stool
My doctor cant feel any but apparently some can be a bit further up so he has sent Me for a sigmoidoscopy ?
Well Amy it is better to have it all checked properly instead of fighting in the dark. I had a colonoscopy to check and see if all was Ok . It was, and it was confirmed that the bleeding was haemorroids. But I only had injections for years then banding for a few more years and finally an heamorroidectomy last November. Going for my final check at the hospital tonight. Good luck with yours, I feel absolutely normal right now. Cheers June
By the way my haemorroidectomy cost nearly £9,000 luckily I have Private health insurance .June
Ok thank you at least its something benign!
I am having a sigmoidoscopy just got to wait so wanted to see if anyone else had the same symptoms. Was your bleeding the same as mine? (stuck in a clear mucus attached to outside of stool)
I've had very similar symptoms and had my sigmoidoscopy in November.my drs were treating me for hemmoroids but was diagnosed with proctitis after the sigmoidoscopy.
Oh really how is that treated? , surely that causes a bit of discomfort during a BM though ? And surely would show up in a blood test (FBC) i had one done but everything came back within normal
To be honest I'm a bit of a strange case .I had no pain at all just slight bleeding and mucus .my bloods were all fine but a stool test showed high calprotectin levels. I was prescribed asacol suppositories to treat mine but I've recently had a letter saying my biopsies were all clear there was no inflamation. I've had no symptoms since starting the asacol until this last week I've noticed a little blood and mucus again :-(
Oh how strange , i doubt its anything serious though as they would have found it there and then. I hope you get sorted soon
Thank you .let us know how your sigmoidoscopy goes
Few quick inputs based on recent recovery I made due to a nice Doctor and by grace of god -
1 Stop taking Red Chilli and High spicy food
2 Increase fruit (papaya is best) and fibrous food specially as a starting food in breakfast
3 Increase water intake
4 after passing poo immediately take hot water dip bath ( Sytz Bath for 10 to 15 min
5 Wear surgical glove and apply Sucral Ano ointment st anus and inside try to push gently haemorohid if it is external
6 Try yoga ( search gaumukh asan on YouTube)
7 Take medicine Hilo 2 cap in morning and 2 in night or its equivalent...
8 Apply baby rash free cream before sleeping on affected area ( preferably check for Zinc Oxide with approximately 40%)
9 I also took homeopathic medicine after slight relief.
10 If pain is severe take pain killer like ibuprofene
Above helped me escape surgery and I recovered in 2 week time
I hope above will help you wishing speedy recovery take care
