Does diazepam etc work well for anxiety

Hi just curious as if these methods of pills to take along side antidepressants ok to take. I seem to think this might help me calm down my anxiety as it’s that i hate so much especially this wk. Thanks would love to here from others.

Hi Brian,

I have suffered anxiety from mild to breakdown over the last nine years.

I was on diazepam 5mg for ages and it worked really well for me.

Each day on diazepam was like living in a happier place.

I was also on various other meds at various times but diazepam worked really well for me.

Hey Brian,

I have been on diazapam along with antidepressant for 17 years. Yes they do come in a combination . How often do you take diazapam ? And what dosage . It is a type of benzos which has the longest half life meaning they can stay in your blood for 100 hours .

I am finding benzo not very helpful any more, dr suggests anti dep for anxiety, which one helps you?

I'm on a few different meds , but find diazepam the best for anxiety

Thanks is that short term on diazepam or long term.

It takes 6-8 weeks for a SSRI to work on me while diazapam is faster acting bit is addictive . What about you?

Yes its a relaxant

Diaz can be very addictive so often docs are reluctant to prescribe it.

In short periods is best as your body gets used to it and you will either have to up dose or try some other med if this happens

Hi i can understand why it would be addicting. I suppose it would the same as that oil thingy 👍.

I take it mainly if i have to go somewhere so probably twice a week but im on other meds for anxiety

I'm on quitipene, progablin and mitrazapine, I was mtbiking sure if the progablin was working, bug consultant just stopped it and my anxiety increased.

Been to the docs my setraline is increased to 100 mg then i will go to 150mg and also been prescribed propranolol (beta blockers) 10mg for now then hopefully increases that to.
