I take omega3 supplements , which is in gelatin capsules, somebody informed that capsule is made up of collagen. so i would like to ask does this capsule provide some collagen to be used by body. following is the product description. Basically yes ,gelatin is made from heating collagen. However collagen is much more easily absorbed than gelatin. So if you want a collagen supplement, take collagen and dont rely on the gelatin shell which is minimal.
No, the gelatin capsule itself doesn’t really give you collagen — it’s just there to hold the oil. If you want real benefits, try hydrolyzed collagen instead. I get mine from Holland & Barrett, and it’s been good so far.
