im pretty sure i already know the answer but… my partner who has cold sores performed oral sex on me, and a week later this develops. very painful and my lymph nodes are swollen and tender in my groin area. i have an appointment thursday, but just wanted to see what you guys think. it is a single sore. really extremely upset about this :((( thank you for taking the time to respond

u should get swabbed or have a blood test given the fact the person who gave u oral had cold sore its better to get checked it might turn out to be from friction or something benign but better to be safe
did they have a sore when performing oral? or just get over one?

abstain from sex and make sure you wash your hands just incase! it would he more benefical too you if you could get it swabbed earlier then thursday but the holidays its probably not gonna happen!

he had felt one coming on, but it never really turned into a cold sore. he wasnt aware that it could still spread without a visible cold sore

Yes it does look like herpes. I only had one sore with my first outbreak in 2016 and have not had an outbreak since.
did you get it swabbed ?
