I have a really bad burning sensation when I urinated. I woke up with sores 3 days ago when my period stopped and today there are more than there was before. Does it look like herpes?
It looks like it may be, although hard to tell with the picture.
given the symptoms you mentioned, they fit a herpes diagnosis, but could also be other things.
Depending on how long the sores have been present, your best bet is to make an appointment and get them swabbed.
if its been longer than 48-72 hours, the swab may not be as reliable and could register a false negative.
The other option is to get a blood test.
There are 2 main types to test for herpes. REQUEST BOTH!
IGG, which is accurate and will only register positive if your body has built enough antibodies. This usually takes about 4 months after exposure.
IGM, which is less reliable, but can register a positive for newly acquired infection.
If all is negative, i would recommend waiting 4-5 months and getting another IGG blood test. This will confirm or negate the test results.
