I've always had this mark on my calf, however over the past couple of weeks it seems to have gotten a lot darker, and has a little crust in the middle, it does not cause any pain. Is this something to be worried about? You can see if you look the outer is of a lighter colour as well. Many thanks.
Not to frighten you but you DO need to get that checked by a dermatologist. NOT your local doctor, but rather a Dermatologist. It looks suspiciously like a melanoma. ANY moles which have changed MUST be seen by a dermatologist. It may well be benign, but you need to make sure. I had a melanoma not long ago and can only urge you to get it checked. Good luck!

Similar but not identical. That's the thing with the scoundrals! Mine had more than one colour in it, but ANY changes need investigating. It may well be a benign mole but as I said, any changes are not to be ignored. Would be best to get it looked at. I have been seeing a dermatologist for over 40 years and I am well versed in how they present. I've had itty bitty ones like yours having an early melanoma, had larger ones being nothing, and one major one being melanoma. (Luckily it was only in the upper layers of skin and had not progressed) Mine looked dark and innocent but one never knows till the doctor looks with his/her special magnifying device. I have one very similar to yours on my hip and am watching closely to make sure no changes.
