Does this pain sound like gallbladder?

hi all!
first post!!
I get these super intense attacks. they are in the right side of my upper abdomen and the pain grips around me like a vice and is felt in my back as well. i cant concentrate on anything else or distract myself. usually i will take two t3 and that just takes the edge off…
the attacks usually come on after a period of unhealthy eating and the attack lasts about 5-12 hours. Just constant agonizing pain. worse than labour. If i have been eating well i can go months without an attack. if i eat badly i can get them every week.
I do not have constant pain, only during attacks. I also feel nauseous during attacks but I dont throw up. I am always exhausted the next day.
I have gotten ultrasounds and hida scan. my hida scan was low normal and the ultrasound showed a polyp and some sludge but no stones.
my dr isnt sure it is my gallbladder, how do I make sure thats really what the problem is?
what test do I ask for next?
does this sound like a gallbladder thing to you?

thanks

This sounds like gallbladder related attacks, I have kind of the same situation where my tests were normal but HIDA low at 58% but i have pain everyday, somedays not as noticeable and constant and other days bad everyday for weeks then lets up for a couple weeks. No way of really knowing for sure without a abnormal result or a confirmed gallstone. I am having my gallbladder removed next week after careful thought and weighing my options.. the general surgeon i saw is willing to remove even after i had a normal EGD with Ultrasound that did not show even microscopic gallstones as long as my h pylori test comes back negative because all my symptoms point to the gallbladder. I’m hoping things get better. I hope you figure this out because i know how much this can affect a person. I’m sorry you are having all these symptoms. Good luck with everything.

Hi there
That sounds like gall bladder, the pain often tracks round your right side too.
I had a poor functioning gall bladder and sludge but no stones, eventually I elected to have surgery as my dr was unsure and as it was classed as non urgent so I was at the back of the queue!!
good luck

Sounds like GB issue. I just had mine out 5 week ago and all i had was 2 polyps and sludge. I had no stones.

After 5 years of monitoring polyps i eventually had it out. They had grown almost to that point of being a concern but it was the discomfort. I dont beleive i ever experienced real GB pain like some people on here do but after a meal or certain foods id be in a very uncomfortable position similar to what you mention

Had GB out ans everything is great. even 5 weeks later i can eat what i want without an issue. i dont know how polyps cause pain especially if they are not near a duct but my GB definitely struggled

that was exactly the same pain i used to get before gallbladder removal, very very strong pain, nausea, bathroom issues, bad digestion, but the worst was the pain, it all went away after they took it out, mine was very swollen with sludge.
