Does this seem like the beginning of an outbreak?

Me and my (ex) boyfriend have been broken up for a little while now but have continued to hook up. This morning I felt like my vagina was burning (or like raw almost?) and red, especially after wiping. Not burning during urination, but it felt like something was off. I put it out of sight and out of mind. Later, when I was in the shower, I felt a stinging pain when washing and was confused so when I got out I decided to examine further. As I pulled the skin back around my clitoris, I noticed two sores(?) I don’t know how else to describe them. To me, they look like the beginning of canker sores that you get in your mouth. Two red perfectly round circles with a white ring around them. They are not visible unless the skin is completely pulled back. I’ll be including two pictures as well. () There is maybe some mild itching but to be honest I feel like my head is playing games with me at this point. Does this seem like the beginning of an outbreak? If so, any advice on what I can expect? Anything I should be looking out for? I have an appointment in two weeks.

Details about my sexual history and my relationship. We have been continuously hooking up with one another since we separated. I don’t know what he did during that time or if he slept with anyone. Last Sunday we had sex (oral, vaginal) and then on Tuesday we had sex again (just vaginal). Before that, it had been 2+ weeks since we hooked up. I asked him today if he’s been intimate with anyone else, because I found something. I made sure he knew that I wasn’t trying to be accusatory in any way, but needed to know, for my own health. I made sure to explain that I wouldn’t be mad and that the most important thing to me was that he was honest with me as someone who he dated for a year. I’m not unreasonable, I know he has the right to hookup with whoever he wants. But I do expect him to be transparent about that for reasons like this, especially since we were having unprotected sex. He said no. He went from extremely defensive, to then offering to pay for me to go and get tested, then he told me he was going to go and get tested himself and said I didn’t need to get tested but insisted if he was positive for anything that he would have questions for me. He has been my only partner for the last year and a half so the whole conversation was really confusing and difficult for me. It’s worth noting that the day after we hooked up he got extremely ill and was diagnosed with strep throat and given a course of antibiotics (amoxicillin). I explained further that because he was just on this antibiotic, his test results were in no way indicative of what my test results would be. I again emphasized that if he had been intimate, that I wanted to go get tested. He continued to say he was going to get tested and would let me know but said there was no reason for me to go unless I felt so inclined.

I will be getting tested because I understand that it isn’t as simple as, walk in, pee in a cup, walk out and I’m not sure that he understands that. I want to have the mental clarity regardless of what his results are and I know that I will do whatever I need to in order to have answers. I know that certain STD’s require blood work and I’m aware that many cases of HSV-1/2 are diagnosed by examining sores. I know you can give blood to test for antibodies but I also know that an accurate test result needs to happen a few months in to give your body time to develop said antibodies. With all this being said, I hope that over the next two weeks while I wait for my appointment, I can see the development of these.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.
