A year ago i had an encounter with a man who was in the latter stages of having a cold sore (it was scabbed over and almost gone). he went down on me and i was drunk and the next day when i realised what happened i was sick with worry that he might have given me herpes. i worried and worried for weeks but nothing ever happened - no symptoms down below or a cold sore in the year since it happened.
I am now in a relationship with a guy i adore. During this week i have had a little soreness inside my vagina but nothing major. Had sex yesterday and this morning was sore again so i got a mirror and had a look inside and there were a few white patches inside me. They dont look like blisters but i am terrified that i might have had herpes all this time from my encounter a year ago or even another time. I have also had a few flu like symptoms and nausea this week.
what are the chances of it laying dormant all this time? i think if it wasnt for the encounter last year i wouldnt even think about herpes as the pics ive seen dont look like what ive got. But im so paranoid. help!
