Doing the herkey jerkey aka walking

I AM 4 weeks post left hip revision. THE incision is posterior lateral. I FELL & broke my right arm 4 days before the hip revision! Yes I AM A MESS LOL! I HAVE been using a walker with an arm adaptor & yesterday decided to try walking on my own. DID alot of “counter walking” in the kitchen. AFTER a few hours i tried walking across rooms & was surprised at how “jerky” my gait is. Has anyone else experienced this? Also feeling like a tight band around upper thigh! Need to ice it. Anyone else having these issues? WILL discuss with my physical therapist today!

hi , im 5 weeks past my hip revision after several dislocations after the first THR in March aparently the liner wasnt correct. so this time im very careful how i move and walk. mt physio told me to walk tall, pulling up through my stomach , and i have some stretches to losen off the front of my thigh which is so thight it feels scary.
i pray its been done properly this time and no dislocations

hi doodle,
i,m also having this tight band around the upper thigh as well. i,m only 11 days post op now. Also posterior lateral left hip. Could you please let us know what your physical therapist has to say about this, i,m going back to see my surgeon next tuesday afternoon an i will also ask him. It will be interesting to compare the two answers. rgds ian
