Don't despair, these things will help you. x

Following on from the great advice by Clark (below) and some medical research, I have found some good quality items that have really helped to reduce this condition and ease the itching. I know how stressful this condition is, but don't despair, it will go away. I'm on day 12 and from day 9 I really found the right combination to zap this bu**er!! 1) Take a good quality antihistamine (for allergies) twice a day (Doc says this is fine to do, even though they are "1 a day" 2) Zinc oxide for the itching. I bought Burt's Bees Baby diaper ointment on Amazon. It's a high concentration and the very best thing to reduce the redness and itching - massively:) 3) Aveeno moisturiser. I tried the cream, the lotion and the after-shower mist. The cream was too greasy for me, the lotion so-so (probably good for the recovery phase) and the shower mist was great to cool and get the back area! Eumovate dermatitis cream is a steroid based cream you can buy over the counter (Doc suggested), but I was unsure having read side affects and use..... your call...... 4) Avoid direct heat. Sun rays are said to help (not much of that around right now and don't think neighbours would appreciate the view!), but definitely not hot bath/showers. 5) Wear loose cotton clothing in thin layers and keep cool in bed - sweating will exacerbate the condition. 6) Eat chocolate. ok, made that up, but hey give us a break Pity-whats-it! Good luck, don't let it beat you x
