I've been having really bad chest pains and a racing heart for about 3 months now. I've made a few post on here before but just to sum it up. I have been to my cardiologist and I have had a echo and a stress test as well as a ekg and a few blood test done. It all checks out i've also been to the ER multipule times any they say i'm fine. I'm still having this racing heart and pains in my chest. I don't know what to do. My cardiologist offered me zoloft. I have to be honest I'm scared to take it because I've read some of the side effects people have had. Please if any of you have any advice on taking zoloft or your expereince I would love to know. I also don't feel like I have anxiety I don't feel anxious about anything it feels like there's something wrong with my heart and they have just missed something. please help.
Try Celexa or Welbutrin in my experience those had the least side effects. I used to have the worst chest pain / heart palpitations / chest spasms and irritations due to anxiety.. I found out magnesium is one of the best supplements for anxiety and I started supplementing with it and all my chest symptoms went away about 60-80% if I do get chest symptoms it isn't as painfull or often. Magnesium helps with overall stress levels aswell. I recommend getting a b complex which is great for stress and a good multivitamin just to make sure your getting almost everything. Also if your doctors / ER cleared you.. You are fine trust them. Just use what they say to confirm it is just anxiety.. The more you think about it the worse it gets. That's why it's probably best for you to get on Celexa or Welbutrin so you can stop suffering and let it reset your system. Try to improve your lifestyle aswell ( Get lots of sleep / eat a clean diet no fast food or caffein / alchohol / stimulants - exercise the moment you feel better to burn stress / and don't overwork)
Thank you so much for your reply. I think i'm gonna give zoloft a try only 50mgs. I hope it'll work and not make things worse.
Have you been to cbt therapy? An anxiety therapist? Its good you had all the ohyscial ailments examined now its time to fix the coping aspect. Your mind. Its a mal functiin that fires off panic, that by now you know. You need to learn skills and tools to manage it now. The mind is an important part of getting exams just as the body.
These chest sensations have been happening to me for more than 6 months . Cardiologist gave me betablocker and the psychiatrist had put me on Zoloft, Aripropazole, etizoram and quetiapine .. After two weeks I become restless especially my legs. I cannot sit or stand still or lay down ... And what he said in the next meet - its a side effect of one ,lets remove it of the course.
This is the doctor's mentality in India , treat body like garbage bin and do anything.
Anyways I am out of those medicine and in the severe withdrawal. I am currently on James Harper supplements and they are not.helping much.
Hoping it will get better and then I would tell you
Please start at the lowest dose just to see how your body reacts. My doctor started me at a higher dose and my body has been burning up for the past 2 days.
Also I was Gona say try meditation and relaxation a couple times a day. Also PMR is great look it up on youtube
I haven't tried it. My cardiologist suggested it. Does it really work?I don't feel anxious. I really don't want to be on meds. though. I just don't know what to do. I just want to feel better.
Everyone reacts differently to medication
What works for me may not work for you.
I take 200mg of sertraline or zoloft as you call it and I am fine with it.
If your doctor has given you it he must think you need it and give it a try,
All meds have side effects
