Don't no what's wrong with my knee

Hi, I've been doing ok, am 5weeks post op pkr, I've been all but signed of by physio, , can go back if need be. I drove yesterday, just a very sort trip no problems what so ever, I'm doing my physio, plus iceing, massageing and elevating. I can use the knee to go up and down half hight steps, ( which I need to improve on greatly before they'll do the other knee.) then today, my knee is soooooo stiff, I can pin point where the new bits of knee are because they hurt. Walking is no where near where it was. I feel like I've gone backward. But I don't no why, Anybody got any ideas?😓

See how it goes - migh be from driving - but more likely just normal stiffness. Give it a few days. I still get an odd day each week on average like that and am 19 weeks.

Mandy, this is just the nature of the beast. Looking back through the threads on here you will find this thing of a quick backside is almost standard. Sometimes it's just a little blip and sometimes it's a scary thing. I would expect backing off your activities some, giving it a little more rest and in general go back where you were a couple of weeks ago. You are still very early to be expecting any where close to a finished rehab. Be patient and continue to push but just not quite so hard so fast. It'll all come together in time.

Ah ok , so I've proberly done it again, and over done it a bit, I thought something was wrong with it, I'm quite relieved  then, I shall rest more, . .😏

Hi Mandy I too drove last week six weeks after my tkr.The day

after I had a, lot of pain and could hardly walk. When I told

the physio she said it was because I was using muscles

I hadn't used for awhile. I have taken it easy since and

haven't attempted to drive. It really sets you back when

something like this happens.x

Mandy, You probably did a little too much and the resulting stiffness is due to that.

My physio said if your knee feels comfortable....do not do anything extra otherwise you will suffer next day and its true.  In fact I walked at lease 2/3 miles to-day further than I have since had knee done (13 weeks) and its already going stiff, so massaging, then going to ice, maybe heat after ice... but will elevate leg to help.

Nothing planned for tomorrow just going to take it as it comes...massage, exercise, ice and heat elevate.

e This is just so common to all of us.  here I am at 5 months, and the last few days every time I bend my knee there is a 'click' and a sharp pinching feeling as if something is biting into the flesh on the outside of my knee, and it's warmer than usual.  I wouldn't worry about this. . just keep exercising gently, ice,  . . maybe you worked a bit too hard and your knee is telling you???  Hope it settles soon!  it is so annoying when progress seems to be regression!

Thank you, yes it is so annoying, when you think your doing so well, and that pinching, is exactly right, it's under the skin on the inside of the knee, and it's making the whole of the knee really achy and so uncomfortable, I'm really hoping in the morning it will feel better.😒

I'm so envious of you being able to walk so far, i can't wait to be doing that again, we used to think nothing of packing our rucksacks up and putting the walking boots on, grabbing the dogs and walking for the day, . I really miss it., it seems so long ago, but it was only a year, can't believe I'm in this state now. Unbelievable really, I shall never take my legs for granted again.😏

YES like little teeth scrunching away at a small area . . . I really thought that at five months this would not come back!!!
