Hi Elizabeth. It's all down to how it affects you in your day to day living. I have cs and stenosis and I get PIP. Paula x

If you have been diagnosed with c/s you need to know how severe it affects your everyday life. Most people who have c/s don't realise how bad it is until one day either through an accident or incident it suddenly gets your attention. Then it can be very extreme, numbness/tingling in arms/legs, terrible pain in neck/shoulders and arms and partial/total paralysis in one or all limbs.

As another person mentioned it needs your specialists reported details to give a more accurate answer, however if you have c/s and it does have a detrimental affect on your life then you should, with the correct support from your g.p. and specialist, qualify for p.i.p.

This is very interesting.  I have been wondering about this as over the last year I have had to take a few days off work due to the pain being so severe and it made me wonder what would happen if I was unable to work.  I have tried to get income protection insuracne but no where will provide me with this insurance and the last compnay that turned me down told me that if you have anything wrong with your spine you are high risk so no one will insure you!  I hope to keep working for as long as I can as I have always worked but if it gets worse and I start having  to have more and more time off work how is a decision made to say that you should be entitled to PIP?  I only ask becasue the damm anoying this about this condition is that no one can see it and only we know the amount of pain we are in.   Plus some days pain isn't so bad so in theory even when really bad you might have some good days when you could work and some where you are so bad there is no way you could but no employer is going to want a member of staff like that so I wonder at what point are you considered unemployable and can claim benefits? x
