Donating blood after THR

Does anyone know if there are limitations to donating blood after THR? Is clearance needed from doctor?

It shouldn't be a problem but like the previous responder mentioned they probably want you to wait until you are fully healed and your own blood has built back up from any blood loss related to the surgery.

They are usually screening for cummunicable diseases when donating blood.

Six month wait. Not allowed to donate if you have had a transfusion yourself

Since I'm now 8 months post surgery and will probably see my surgeon in early November, I think I'll wait for his recommendation. I don't think I have any risk factors, but just want to be sure it's ok for me.

I had low blood pressure for a while due to bleeding during op but didn’t need transfusion. 8 months you’ll prob be ok but I guess there’s a number you can call to ask.
