I had a ceramic robotically assisted THR 6 weeks ago, I cant say it feels any different in temperature but I am aware of the movement of the hip when I come down stairs and it doesnt feel like its ‘me’ yet.

hionly 6 weeks down the line keep doing your exercise and walking every day and iam sure before long you will feel greative no pain at all now which is amazing just the cold feeling most days please keep in touch let me know how your getting on

Morning, actually slept most of the night which has been a problem for me as Im not a natural back sleeper. ive tried pillows and being on my side but its still uncomfy. During the day I have no pain at all and havnt needed painkillers since wk 2. I only get some muscle tightness in my thigh at times but it wears off. I’m walking well without any aid now and its lovely to get in and out the bath easily (got long legs so that made it easier). Feeling really good and this is such a good forum to speak to other people in the same situation.

i also found it very hard to sleep on back
I slept with a few pillows behind my back and head ( as if sitting up in a hospital bed)

Its good to be reading your post on here, I have my RTHR on 1st Feb. Today for me has been dreadful, mainly because of the cold. My thigh muscle is pulling so much I nearly didn’t get into the bath, just now. I have finally relented and taken pain killers, as even eating tea was an effort.
I am looking forward to when I can start doing the normal stuff again, like getting into the pain free.

I feel better each day. i would class mysel pain free ~ only niggle is muscle tightness in my thigh and bum cheek when Im walking. seems to tighten up at start of the walk then loosen off. tightens up again in the evening but I have a heat pad which helps to sooth the achy feeling. am looking forward to starting aqua therepy in next few weeks.
