Hi, was on 10mg for 6 weeks, after little benefit doc moved me up to 20mg 2 weeks ago. I am noticing little benefit still, is it best to still give another it 4-6 weeks to see if it kicks in at this dose?
Hi reasoning51,
What are you taking the meds for?
Hi reasoning51,
Sorry, I sent before I finished my message. I think it will take closer to 3 or 4 weeks to feel the benefits. Are you having side effects? They usually start to dissipate around the 2 to 3 week mark. Message me anytime and we can talk.
Best,
Linda
Hi Linda,
It is for recurrent depression/anxiety.
I know should take 3/4 weeks, but is that on top of the 6 weeks i spent on the lower dose?, i.e, another 3/4weeks sinceupping the dose?
Hi reasoning,
It really varies from person to person. I am on day 17 of an upped dose and am only now noticing some improvement. I am taking for intense anxiety. I suspect you will start feeling the positive effects shortly. Are you havng any side effects or have they gone? My tummy is still a mess, but most of the other side effects have settled. I had a terrible time with skipping heart beats, but that has greatly diminished over the past few days. The best thing you can do is keeping doing. Walking is very helpful. Try to say as many positive things to yourself as you can - like "this will pass, I can do this, it's just anxiety, I have calmness inside me, I am safe, I am getting stronger every day". Hot baths are also helpful. Talk on the phone or have a little bite of something to eat when you are in the bath. Try not to be too impatient. Improvement will definitely come - you will know it is coming when you have just one less anxious moment - the one will go to two and then to three and eventually you will have way more calm moments than you have anxious ones. Finally, you will feel better than you ever have. The depression comes with the anxiety and it will lessen as the anxiety ebbs. Don not be hard on yourself. You will get better. I promise.
Best,
Linda
Hi reasoning51,
I am taking 20mg the last year or so. I originally was on 10mg but like yourself I did not find any considerable benefit. Switched to 20 mg and have not looked back. Give it time....... it differs for everybody in terms of when medication starts to work. Hang in there and you will be fine.... Personally myself when my anxiety starts to overcome me, I try to keep busy and active. Any type of exercise will help to reduce your anxiety levels. Just try and stay positive... YOU WILL BE FINE
Best Regards,
Michael
Thanks folks.
Guess its not an overnight instant feeling af wellness then?
Yeah Linda, my stomach has been all over the place too with side effects, thats only real one ive been having
Hi reasoning,
No, it is definitely not instant, but you will definitely get relief. Just hang in there. It's worth it.
Best,
Linda
Thanks Michael. How long did it take for you to notice benefits of moving up to 20mg?
How long did you have issues with your tummy for, Linda?
