I have been on 5mg for about a week. The most bothersome side effect has been the extreme tiredness, some anxiety. I'm due to increase my dose to 10mg tomorrow. I'm very apprehensive about this. What can I expect?
I was originally prescribed 10mg but was afraid, so I only took 5. Honestly, for me there was no difference. I still felt just as bad. But I'm somewhere in week and no more side effects. It does still make me extremely drowsy, but I take it before bed....so I sleep it off. Its so worth it.

I was prescribed 20 MG to begin with, and the effects were quite something in the beginning, but after a few weeks, I have been all the way to 30, and now on 10.
to go from 5 to 10MG i doubt you'll experience much difference, but compared to someone who has been on citalopram for years it may differ.
10 MG i believe is the smallest prescribed dose? Unless you cut the tablets in half ?
the less you worry, the less side affects you'll have, placebo effect...
I believe you're meant to take it in the morning, as it is most effective then, increasing your levels of serotonin in the day , decreasing depression and anxiety rather than when asleep.
*after a few weeks the effects diminish
