DPD Time perception memory loss

So this is going to sound crazy im really hoping im not alone here..

So i smoked weed for the first time in my life in august last year. I had my first ever panic attack and literally felt like i was dying I noticed time had slowed down completely.. This was terrifying what happened next was worse. I then noticed my reflection was not me or at least i couldnt connect with myself. The panic attacks lasted every morning for around a week after this and i still felt my surroundings were not right at all as was my ability to connect with myself in a mirror. I put this down to the weed having not completely worn off yet. These symptoms seemed to go away and i returned back to a sense of normality only i couldn’t remember much from the week prior to smoking but thought nothing of it.

Now here is the problem.

Later on in the year i went through a very stressful time that brought on anxiety like I have never had it before and now the symptoms are back the nothings real the im not real and the time perception. Any of you experienced day to day slow time? So you look at your watch and its 12:00pm and what you think has been about half an hour later and you check and its 12:05pm this is terrifying is this still derealisation/depersonalisation?

Also the worst part my short term memory is terrible i am forgetting what i did 2 days ago and 2 days ago feels like a week ago..

I sleep 2 hours a night and cant sleep if i try to nap..

what is going on? Anyone? i really want to get out of this hell

Just started Sertraline hopefully it curbs the anxiety and then i can deal with the rest of it.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Denton

yes depersonalization can cause you to have those issues with time and everything else. hopefully the medication will help but I also suggest you get some counseling online or in person. It’s difficult to try to manage these alone and the counselors have had a lot of experience in this area and can give you some support and methods to cope.if I were you I would not smoke weed anymore because it’s not a good mix with anxiety! It also alters brain function in a negative way.you are going through what a lot of people go through who have anxiety and stress., Including myself. Try not to overreact to it because it will get worse if you do. One day at a time. Wait for the medication to kick in which takes about 4 to 6 weeks, and get that support. whenever you can, relax your mind. That could be just taking a walk, listening to meditations on YouTube for anxiety, listening to relaxing music or Nature Sounds, etc. Whatever works for you. The depersonalization is your brain‘s way of trying to protect you from the outside world and what makes you anxious. So it’s kind of a weird foggy feeling . i’ve had it numerous times. Feel better soon take care .

My biggest fear is that the one and only time in my life i do weed I have ruined my life for good. I don’t want to go out the suns brighter than anything ive seen before nothing looks the same and this is daily.. So yeah i just really hope ive not lost myself and i would love to reconnect to my memories its so painful thinking one little stupid idea to smoke has now had an impact on me for the rest of my life. Driving is hard now feeling spaced out etc i cant exercise without feeling really weird i feel it makes it worse. i like the meditation but find it so hard to visualise now and my memory before was so so vivid.. Im literally praying. Thank you so much for your reply gives me hope
