I Have to be at the dr in two and a half hours and im terrified! SEVERE white coat syndrome. Been playing this day out for the last five days in my head and now im revving up and quickly. i was good last night and now bam. Churning stomach, fast heartrate (100's standing), shakes and weak legs, want to puke, adrenaline and vision weirdness kicking in. Took ativan as planned and hope it helps so i can deal with this. my ears feels plugged up too, weird. im so scared.. feel like a frightened rabbit being chased. idk if i should take an extra pill or what to do.. waiting now and ready i guess, for daughter to take me. im also semi agoraphobic, havent left my house at all in a few months so ugh! i can do this!
Hi Mary,
You can do this !
I hope the discussion goes well
All the best

Yes you can do this. Do some slow breathing and try to put it out of your mind until your daughter comes for you. You won’t be there long and you’ll be back in your home before you know it. I usually think of what I’m going to do when I get back, like watching a movie for instance. When you are there you will see that you are not the only one nervous and I find that reassuring. ![]()

Ty Zen..waiting is the worst. Have an hour to wait still and now pills made me tired but still strung out. just dont want to look like a fool but oh well.
thank you again hug
Mary I so get what you are going through, but Ive found the thinking about doing something is worse than doing it. We are all stronger than we think. my last visit to GP I just thought what better place to have anything happen but in a waiting room of GPs!!
Also i got a great tip, read all posters around the area, look at what people are wearing, wonder why they are there, etc., it does help & who knows there maybe others there in the same boat as yourself… I have changed today from “WHAT IF…” to “SO WHAT…” it helps, I will be thinking of you let us know how you get on… give it socks Mary, YOUVE GOT THIS x
had dpdr for about 5 months now i learned to control it mine was triggered by stress and 2 panic attacks how you got it
Jayn, thank you for the suggestion and i did that.. kept saying my olans to my daughter for when i get home. kind of helped too. lol was still tough but made it through. ty hugs
Jean, thank you so much for your help. i still paced and struggled to stand at desk and sit still but i tried to keep occupied. Got my first psyciatrist appt in a week and blood work done and a few pills to get me by till then but they blew off the symptoms that got me there in the first place. (dizzy and stomach issues) i guess one step at a time. Got ekg last week in er so they dint seem concerned. ah well, back home
ty again. hug
WELL DONE MARY - you rock!! I was thinking of you all day. How great were you to even go after not being out for a while. Not that I suggest you go to Doctors everyday, why not tomorrow go for a little walk, even 5 minutes and go a little further each time, thats what Im at… not easy, but you know it does get easier.
I was told to walk for 20 minutes everyday, on my legs that felt like jelly, so the first few days i walked so slow I was hardly moving so that the 20 minutes would pass - lol. The things we put ourselves through, get a wee note book and put your Highlights in, as in, went to Doctors today, stayed, didnt make a fool of myself. Then each day write something, no matter how small, of something you did that you worried about before doing, maybe the five minutes walk, keep this up & for example when your next appointment comes up go back to what you did today, you brave lady. Thank u for letting me know and Mary WELL DONE AGAIN x
Well done Mary, you did it. Brilliant!
When I first started having anxiety issues I hardly left my home for several weeks, I couldn’t go to work, couldn’t eat and had all sorts of symptoms, that was several years ago. I know how difficult this must have been for you, I used to be the same way back then. With determination and pushing myself to do a little more each day I recovered and went back to work. It wasn’t easy but it is possible. I have some issues at the moment but mainly withdrawal from medication symptoms. I’m hopeful that this will pass soon.
Best wishes for getting back to good health very soon.![]()
