Dealing with drop foot from anterior THR from for four yearsa ago, terribly unbalanced, etc. BIG problem is now other hip is needing replacement. Anyone in this situation??? I live on pain meds hoping I'll die before forced into another surgery. I'm 70 and have an active, wonderful life, but a walking cane is always at my side. Hah, at one time I was running 20 miles a week, mowing the yard, doing 5 and 10K races.

Whats drop foot? Do you mean your legs are different lengths? Please dont say what you said. Its so sad 😢
Dear kat ,
I am so sorry to to hear this ..I had 2 THR surgeries within 6 months - I am not saying it is nothing and am fully aware that I had no complications prior 2nd THR (except pain in hip)...
I know someone who had drop foot - she had 2 THR surgeries and implants used had been recalled a year prior her surgery - she sued the hospital (Succesfully) for negligence and had 2 additional THR surgeries - this corrected her drop feet to some extend ...
Good to hear that you have an active wonderful life, Kat - enjoy and embrace it -
welcome to our hippies family - there is alot of love for you here ...
big warm hug

Hi Renee. So glad things are working out, even though this surgery is a biggie. I know they are making improvements all the time. Mine was four years ago. A friend just had her second THR and disolvable stitches were used, she had no catheter, and no compression stocking. Glad your friend got something out of the hospital. I looked at so many options and realized in my case it was fruitless. Thanks for the nice welcome. Hugs to you as well.
