Yes. I'm drunk again. Had 1 and half bottles of wine yesterday. Now half way through a litre of vodka. Found out my partner of 4 years went out Friday with a woman from Alonon. He's moved from aa to alonon now to get his kicks.
I only drink vodka when I'm really really sad. Was sober for several weeks but I've nothing to sober up for now.
Hi paper fairy.
It is understandable that you feel upset but I'm sure you know the alcohol will only highten your bad emotions & the situation.
You have yourself to sober up for hun, your worth it.
Best wishes x
I'm staying awake now to get Drs appt. you have to try and try at 8 or you don't get an appt. The only way now I'm on vodka is to get diazepam. Dad says he will take me. He's 82 but I have no one else now. Sad but true
Thanks. I know I have to but I'm so raw now. Dad will hopefully talk sense into me xx
I feel as if I've drank everyone away over the years also.. I haven't drank since December but I get extremely lonely at times.
At least your dad cares, hopefully the doc will help you. Its best to stop drinking b4 your body becomes physically dependant onit as then you'll have have to be detoxed hun.
Paper fairy
please don't let him win, you're worth far more than this!
i understand and empathise the hurt and distress his actions have caused you, but PLEASE try and put the vodka down and think of how bad you're going to feel when you want to stop.
yes, you have got reasons to stop, what about your daughter for 1? You've got friends who care about you, and none of us want to see you suffer like this.
ive sent you a PM and you know you can contact me, even a drunken rant is better off your chest, than suffering alone.
take care, and please try to leave the vodka alone. I do understand how hurt you are, but you're worth more than this.
Thanks for your good advice but I'm on self destruct.
I really wish there was something local to help us, apart from aa. I was married for 20 plus years( divorced now) and then went into a relationship with a man in aa(22 years sober). Big mistake x
Please don't get fobbed off, if the dr's receptionists tell you they've got no appointments today and try tomorrow.
ive worked in several GP surgeries and they have to see you today. Tell them you'll wait until they've seen the last patient, and you're prepared to wait. This is called an emergency slot. If they still say no, just say in that case, you're sorry, but you need a home visit. Am sure they will then say to come at the end of surgery and be prepared to wait.
Dont be fobbed off
Someone( and she knows who she is) took the time to help me today. Bless x
So sorry to hear this, paper fairy, when you were doing so well, and I understand how hurt you are feeling. But you do have something to sober up for and that is YOU. You can survive this. Hope you GP helps, keep in touch on here. Best wishes H
When you get to speak to a doctor, please stress how important it is for you to get some medication, whether diazapam or Librium to help with withdrawal.
if you know you've got medication, it will help you to stop drinking safely sooner rather than later. You know that the longer you keep drinking, the longer and harder it will be if and when you stop.
you can get through this and come out sober and you have the support from this forum. Keep posting and stay in touch

Hi paper fairy....I am so. So sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment....I know just how difficult it is.....but keep your chin up. You have done it before and you will do it again....your GP should help you...tell them that if you don't get the help that you need..you are not certain what you may do...
You are not alone in slipping. I had so many I lost count. But after my fourth section THREE..I managed to stop...that was 13yrs ago, I have been really well for many years..however this last six months I have been drinking more ( I used to have 4 pints a week ) but since Xmas it has been it has speeded up...I cannot stop at a couple ....last night I drank half a bottle of vodka.....
But now I don't beat yourself up about it...and neither should you...every day sober is an achievement..
You certainly need more help from your family doctor...have you got an ADAS .clinic where you are, you can just walk in and ask for their help...I had a specialist nurse for many years who became a very good friend....she would take me out to places like a garden centre...and pay for a meal...they do amazing work and they truly care....
So. Lovely lady, never, ever lose hope..we are not bad people, we are just struggling a little.....I am also sorry to hear about your husband. I hope it works out okay...I send you warm hugs lovely lady...take care ALWAYS..Dee DEIRDRE xxxxx
Hi Dee
I was just wandering what an adas clinic is? Or what it stands for?
Was you completely sober for 13 years ?
X
Hi paper fairy
How did you get on today at the docs today hun?
I hope you're OK x
tricky situation Paper Fairy and certiainly understandable that you are upset and drink. I was on vodka and a LOT but the more you drink the more you want and it never stops. Glad that your Dad can help as well. Try to have the or coffee to sober up....best of luck!!! Robin
Hi tar4..ADAS....STANDS FOR.....ALCOHOL AND DRUGS ADDICTION SERVICE...
It is excellent as you can self refer...I attended for many years and it certainly helped...I had a wonderful nurse who now works on the transplant team at BIRMINGHAM CITY HOSPITAL....if they have any spare livers for transplantation. She oversees it all the way through...from start to finish...she was also a very good friend...to myself and all of my family....I had four home detox treatments with her....
I also saw a psychiatrist for many years...who also became a good friend....he sectioned me four times for my own safety....
It can help you so much...have a word with your GP...or as I said previously. You can just walk in and ask to talk to someone....they are all qualified and it is in complete confidence....
I wish I had attended when I first began to drink....
Over the 13yrs...I was completely sober for 9months...I found that I could then have a couple of drinks twice a week and I was fine...it is only recently that I have upped my intake again...even though it is not every day..thank goodness...
I wish everyone on this forum happiness and good health...
Take care of yourself...we can ALL BEAT IT. BIG HUGS TO EVERYONE....DEE xxxxx
Hi paper fairy
so sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. How are you doing? I know it's difficult, but hope the vodka has now gone. However bad you're feeling today, please don't continue drinking. You are sensible enough to know that the longer you continue to drink, the harder it will be to stop, and withdrawal will be worse.
I hope you managed to get some medication from your dr to help you to stop. Keep posting as you have many people on this forum alone, who care about you and can support you.
Hi Vickiilou and friends on this site. Blacked out yesterday and been in bed all morning. The doc won't give me Diazapam and says I have to go to addaction again to get any medication. Look and feeling rubbish. I'm finishing off the vodka as I know it's the only way I will feel better ( for a bit today!). Looks like I will either have to sober up and suffer in silence or order some Diazapam on line. My dad wasn't very helpful yesterday so I'm on my own. I know this latest binge won't last for ever but when it's going to stop, I don't know. I darent just stop as you know I've had hallucinations in the past. So will probably get a bottle of wine and beer again this afternoon, to gradually detox. Won't get vodka though. Gives the staff at the shop something to gossip about anyway! Luckily the shop is only a 5 min walk. My doctors is a 15 min drive and I have a slow puncture so haven't dared drive for a week or two. Need to get it fixed, like myself!
