Dry Foreskin

So my foreskin has been getting drier than normal. I was wondering maybe because it's winter and the cold usually dries out my face, but I'm not sure. Should I put lotion on it or would that irritate the inside of my penis?

Just checking, do you have any skin conditions elsewhere on your body such as Psoriasis? The photo clearly shows that you have severely dry skin on foreskin, near to your fingers (bottom of shaft) and this is likely to be the case on your entire penis. What you also need to check is the area of skin between the underneath (rear) of scrotum and your anus as this is area that can also attract severe dry skin conditions.
I have also noted seasonal changes myself and while it would be difficult to link this with particular reasons for it occurring what you need to think about is your own regular practices.
For example, how frequently you shower, and what cleansing products you use when you shower? I used to go to the gym frequently so would often shower twice a day. The important things are to use cleansing agents that are as skin friendly as possible. Here is what to do:-

  • Find out about soaps and shower gels for sensitive skin
  • Doing no harm to the skin means you have to ensure you are 100% dry each time you shower
  • As this is happening with your penis, always dry this area of skin first when get out of the shower
  • No, do not use a normal moisturiser or skin cream or lotion, find out about and use these …
  • Coconut Oil - Aloe Vera Gel (both are relatively cheap - you can get really good quality ones of these from shops such as Savers and Superdrug if you are in the UK

Put these changes in place, then check carefully to see how whether your skin is improving or not after 3 or 4 weeks. I would say, if there is no change, or barely little that you would need to gain the help of a Dermatologist for which you can get a referral from your GP / Regular Doctor …
